Base Costs
Just a quick guide to the minimum prestige costs it will take to get the medical teleporter up and running. This is our first priority -- next will be workshops and zone teleporters.
Energy: 150k room + 225k generator
Control: 100k room + 150k mainframe
Medical: 150k room + 10k teleporter
Total: 785k
Already purchased: 150k energy room + 150k medical room = 300k
Needed balance: 485k
As of this posting, we're just shy of 100k in the bank, so if we maintain this rate of prestige earning, we'll hopefully have a very basic functioning hospital in a week or less.
Salvage won't be useable until we have a workshop and workbench. Even then, the things you build will often require additional prestige to place. Until we really need the better crafter base components, it's probably wiser to focus on getting all of the teleporters up and running. So, just continue to collect and hold on to your salvage.
Update (Nov 2, 2005 11:33 EST): All three rooms have been purchased (400k), and we have 12k left in the back. Just a little over 360k to go....

Just curious as to when we should get a candy machine? Directly after we get a base infirmary?
Also, I don't see a medical terminal in the base or in the cost sheet. We'll probably need one of those, no?
It's only 10k. And I built one the first day. Evidently there is a bug where your med transporter keeps disappearing. YAY! Soo...save it for last so we don't keep wasting 10k over and over again.
Cobra said this happened in beta..and sometimes you can recover the cost by deleting the room. I didn't feel like trying since I'd have to delete the whole base basically since that room is a linker.
How much is the candy machine?
I plan on checking the price of a candy machine tonight. I think that it should be our second goal, then teleporter (as I almost have all the SG beacons unlocked, even the Bugged CAD one).
I don't have the candy machine on my price list -- isn't it a craftable item? In other words, don't we need a workshop to build it?
No idea, i forgot to look for it. I'll see what kind of info i can dig up.
A brief estimate shows that we're getting approximately 800 prestige per player hour. Friday night we made about 17k. At this rate, we'll have the 225k we need for a mainframe in about 10 days. The 160k for the med center will take roughly another 10 days after that.
So, if you want to play around with the base editor, you have a little less than 3 weeks before we restrict access.
